Speech And Language Therapy
Speech And Language Therapy
In addition to the incidence of speech and language disorders found in the general school population, the Speech-Language Pathologists at Pathways are particularly alert to the kinds of language difficulties often associated with autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. Timely treatment of deficits in complex language comprehension supports academic progress in science, social studies and math and well as in the language arts. Language and speech therapy services are provided at Pathways, according to students’ IEPs, in small group or individual sessions and within the academic classroom as needed. These services are offered in addition to pragmatics classes. Consultation with academic staff is ongoing. At the discretion of parents and the home school district, three-year evaluations and other assessments may be administered by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist on staff.
